A humorous thought, or strong lesson?

Published under: Uncategorized.

I opened the Gospel Library app during sacrament meeting. It opened to the middle of 3 Nephi 12, which is a record of Christ giving a sermon to those in America very similar to the Sermon on the Mount, and began reading at the point that was displayed already on the screen…

46… and pray for them who despitefully use you and persecute you;

As I read that I thought of my children, in somewhat of a humorous way.

Kids can be so needy.

Kids will break your things.

Kids can be very ungrateful.

But you gotta pray for them.

Then I read the next verse…

45 That ye may be the children of your Father who is in heaven; for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good.

And was immediately reminded that I, myself, am a child of our Heavenly Father and he has to deal with that from me too.
